Progress?
Well, I screwed around even more with the blog look. The calendar to the right looks almost centered now. What a pain. I don't know if I do anything with this blog except play with the look. Even William has updated a cartoon on his blog. At least I think I'm learning CSS.
I need to update the music section soon. I wonder if I should just do a static page (as it currently is), or make a new blog, or just more blog categories.
So is this blog useful? I don't know...

Celebrate Erie Fireworks
Here's a nice picture that I took of the CelebrateErie fireworks show (cropped down a bit from the original).
Third Rail
Well, finally I did it. Made copies of the Third Rail concert from last years JDRF Walk to find a cure for diabetes. Came out pretty good. I guess I just had to get off my butt and make the copies.
More Screwing Around With the Blog
Changed some colors on the Haloscan comments and tried (yet again) to add some space after the calendar on the right side. Seems like I keep on screwing around with that but never get anywhere. I'm sure I'll try again later...

More Blogging Fun...
Playing with the blog again. Changed a bit of the layout, hopefully fixed (again) some of the archives. Hopefully, I didn't screw up anything.

Dare Salon
Here's a link to Dare Salon, a salon in Detroit run by Angela River. Hopefully Google will pick up on it. I helped her mom Virginia get a domain for it and get it linked to her MySpace page (DARe Salon).

Notes From James - One Year
I was playing around with the blog (again) and noticed that I started this blog almost exactly a year ago. Well, it survives on!

Thingamablog Isn't Dead!
I was worried about the status of Thingamablog (the wonderful Java program that I use to write this blog). I sent an e-mail to Bob Tantlinger, the main author, and asked him if the project was dead, in hiatus, etc.
Hi Bob!
I've been using Thingamablog for quite a while now and have noticed that the project seems to have died. :-( I remember reading about Tablog 2.0 a while back, but can't seem to find any trace of it. Is the project really dead? (Of course on sourceforge, it's never really dead, but...)
Thanks for such a great program!
James
Almost immediately, he sent me his reply:
Hi James,
Thingamablog isn't dead :) It is being rebuilt from the ground up, which, sadly, is taking a lot longer than i'd hoped.
Sorry about there not being any news updates, or anything. I guess when I get my mind wrapped around new projects, I tend to push the old ones to the side. I should be better about that.
Anyway, stay tuned. The new version isn't too far away.
So to all Thingamabloggers, don't give up hope! And stay tuned....

Check for updates on Bob's weblog here.
CelebrateERIE
Went to CelebrateERIE on Friday to see the Beach Boys. I wish I brought my camera...hundreds of people were taking pictures with their cell phones...I feel pretty far behind the times! It was a good time, and the perfect price, though (free).

Fixing the Blog...Again
I just realized that I didn't have the HaloScan comments enabled. I don't get too many comments on here, but at least I'd like that they would be available to view on here. Ah well...
Hopefully they'll show up in the archives now.
Fredrick's 70th Birthday
Here are pictures from Fredrick Ghofulpo's 70th birthday party. His main squeeze, Virginia, put everything together. Excellent job!
Note if you don't have the password and want to check out any of the pictures, please e-mail me -- you can do this via the main page. I'll be glad to give it to you!

EMTA -- Erie Schedule Changes
Here are the proposed/forthcoming changes to the Erie PA EMTA bus system:
1. The route numbers will all be changing with the exception of the County Routes.
2. The big bus will now travel to the mall and on to Summit. Shuttle bus transfer will be eliminated. There will no longer be smaller shuttle buses, but rather the big buses will travel South of the mall.
3. All the mall routes will have the letter M in front of them. M1, M2, M3, M4.
4. Each route will have its own schedule.
5. The system map--which now contains all of the timetables will no longer have any timetables. Rather, it will contain full color system map and have loads of community and tourist information.
Per EMTA: "We look to have the new individual schedules as well as the system map printed and ready to distribute 5-6 weeks before the October 28th changes. Plus, we will be posting the new system map and new route numbers on all the buses. We will have the website revamped with the changes but not until right before the changes happen."
