Windows Loses DVD Drive

So Windows Vista lost your CD or DVD drive too? Every so often, I go to use it, and it is missing. After a brief search, I found an interesting tip - put your machine to sleep, and wake it up again. I tried it as well, and the drive magically reappeared. Not the greatest workaround, but a lot faster than the shutdown-restart approach that I was using earlier.
